St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese has placed restrictions on visitors due to an increase in influenza or ‘flu’ cases.

Children under the age of 14 and anyone displaying any flu-like symptoms are asked to not visit patients at St. Joseph’s until restrictions are lifted.

Symptoms can include fever or chills, sore throat, body or muscle aches, headache, cough or runny nose.

To further combat the spread of illness, respiratory hygiene stations with alcohol foam, tissues and masks are at all hospital and Healthplex entrances and near the elevator in the women and infants center.

Visitors are encouraged to make use of these supplies while at the hospital and everyone is further encouraged to practice good hand and respiratory hygiene at all times.

Anyone with flu-like symptoms and at St. Joseph’s for medical services is specifically asked to use the available masks.

Information on the visitor restrictions is posted at all hospital entrances. For details, contact nursing administration at 618-526-5410.
