• U.S. postage price going up

The cost of mailing a letter goes up next month. Regulators have approved a temporary, 3-cent increase to 49 cents for first class postage in an effort to help the Postal Service recover from severe mail decreases brought on by the 2008 economic downturn. Forever stamps at the old price can be bought until Jan 26, when the new rate kicks in.
