KINMUNDY — Arletha Crain, 74, of Kinmundy, died at 11:40 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at Salem Township Hospital in Salem.
She was born Feb. 20, 1939, in Meacham Township, Marion County, the daughter of Pete and Adaline (Bonham) Butts, who both preceded her in death. She married Carroll Crain on May 30, 1957, in Kinmundy and he survives in Kinmundy.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Crain is survived by son Jock Crain and wife Brenda of Kinmundy; daughters Julie Green and husband Ed, Della Middleton and husband Mark, and Betsy O’Leary, all of Kinmundy; brothers Mike Butts of Collinsville, Calvin Butts of Maryville and Daryl Butts of Marion; sisters Alpha Wohltman of Teutopolis and Delma Bohnhoff of Dieterich; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers George, Bob and Gerald Butts; and great-grandchildren Zach Braddy and Morgan Green.
She was a homemaker, member of the Christian faith and was known as “Grandma Weefy.”
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy. Interment will follow in Philips Cemetery in rural Kinmundy.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
