    CENTRALIA — Sandra Sue Zinschlag, 79, of Centralia, passed away at 9:55 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Centralia Manor in Centralia.

    She was born on October 9, 1934 in Breese, the daughter of Martell Theodore. and Helen Elizabeth (Sparenberg) Zinschlag. Zinschlag Sandra

    Ms. Zinschlag is survived by her five  cousins Phillip Earl Baumeyer and wife Ruth of Columbus, Ohio, Rita Ann Padfield of Breese, Sharon Kay Kolbrecher and husband Dan of Trenton, Mary Louise “Boogie” Bassler of Trenton, Judy Ann Coffel and husband Bruce of Clarksville, Tenn.; and many friends.

    Ms. Zinschlag was preceded in death by her parents.

    Ms. Zinschlag was a member of the St. Peter United Church of Christ in Centralia, where she was involved with the ERM Society and many church activities. She was a member of the Laurata  Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was also a member of the Centralia V.F.W. Post # 2055 Ladies Auxiliary, Friends of the Library, Du Bois Auxiliary and Booster Club, Thyme to Garden Club, Centralia Cultural Society and Ladies Card Club. She enjoyed traveling, painting, tending to her flowers and cross stitching which she presented at craft shows.

    Ms. Zinschlag retired on December 31, 2001 as a secretary from the Hudson-Gray Insurance Agency in Centralia, after 41 years of service. She graduated from the Centralia Township High School with the Class of 1952 and Washington Grade School. She has lived most of her life in Centralia.

    Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Centralia, with Reverend Lisa Hart officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia.

    Friends may call from noon until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. at the church.

    Memorial Contributions may be made in Ms. Zinschlag’s honor to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be received at the Moran Queen~Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia.
