CARBONDALE – The Salem Lady Wildcats won their sixth straight game, and 7th out of their last 10 with a 69-59 road win at Carbondale on Monday night.

After a slow start, Salem turned on the heat scoring 12 of the first quarters 16 final points on their way to a lead which they would never relinquish.

Senior Kyla Cook started things for Salem scoring 10 first quarter points with sophomore Dearria Watson taking her cue and putting in 10 more in the 2nd quarter as Salem built a 38-25 lead at the break.

Salem would do their work at the foul line going 12-of-15 in the fourth quarter to keep Carbondale out of reach.

Watson finished with a team-high 20 for Salem.  Junior Shelby Holst added 18 while going 6-of-6 from the foul line.  Cook added 12 points in the win.

Salem will close out their regular season on Thursday when they travel to Mater Dei.
