Coming in with a combined total wins of 2, the South Central basketball programs have underachieved this season.  However, on Monday night it was like old times as both teams came away with wins.

BRIDGEPORT – Abby Hahn’s three-pointer with six seconds left in regulation sent the Lady Cougars regional opener with Oblong into overtime.  From their South Central would finish them off with a 51-47 victory.

Hahn finished with 22 on the night and puts the Lady Cougars into the semifinals on Tuesday night against SC grad Curt Thompson’s top-seeded North Clay Cardinals at 6pm.

FARINA – The South Central Cougars hit free throws down the stretch and stiffened up defensively as they held off the Cisne Runnin’ Lions 50-44.  It was a makeup of a game snowed out earlier this year.

Evan Langley fouled out with 15 points and sophomore Brett Harmeier added 11.  South Central returns to conference play tonight when they host St Anthony.
