• High January rainfall could help drought recovery

    Climatologist Jim Angel says the statewide average precipitation was 3.9 inches in January, which is nearly two  more inches than average.

    Angel also says snowfall was below average in Illinois, but rainfall numbers should help the state recover from the 2012 drought.
