• Investigation leads to drug charges for 28

    A month long investigation led to eight individuals in Jefferson County being arrested Wednesday on assorted drug related charges, while nearly 20 others are still being sought.

    The Mt. Vernon Police Department – Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Joint Narcotics Division took into custody 26-year old John Ferguson and 24-year old Randi Webb, both of Sandoval, both on two counts alleged unlawful delivery of a controlled substance with $30,000 bond each. Cameron Dunn, 21, of Mt. Vernon had bail set at $10,000 for alleged prescription fraud.

    Also, 33-year old Corey McGee and 28-year old Alan Fleming, both of Mt. Vernon, both on charges of alleged unlawful delivery of cannabis with $15,000 bond each.

    Fleming has already posted bond and been released.  Also posting bond is 55-year-old John Stonecipher, of Waltonville, and 35-year-old Chad James of Mt. Vernon, both of whom were charged with alleged possession of drug equipment and were released after posting $100 bond each. James was also charged with alleged possession of cannabis.

    Already in jail on a $150,000 bond for an aggravated robbery charge is Russell Brown of Mt. Vernon. He was charged with alleged unlawful delivery of cannabis with an additional $15,000 bond.  The others remain at large and will be named upon their arrest.
