• Early morning armed robbery in Mt. Vernon

    Just before 4 a.m. today, the Huck’s station on Second Street in Mt. Vernon was robbed at gun point, says a press release from the Mt. Vernon Police Department.

    The suspect is described as dark skinned, wearing dark blue jeans and a red shirt under a gray zip-up hooded jacket. The jacket has white and black stripes on upper-chest area and when the suspect entered the Huck’s at Second and Broadway, the jacket was zipped up and the hood was on.

    The suspect also had on a black bandana with white designs covering his mouth, and was wearing an ankle sock on both hands. A small silver revolver was displayed in the right hand. A pink watch or bracelet was on the left wrist and a purple bracelet was on the right wrist.

    If anyone has any information regarding the identity of the suspect please call MVPD (242-2727) or Jefferson County Crime Stoppers (242-TIPS). Crime Stoppers callers will remain anonymous and may receive a cash reward if an arrest is made as a result of their tip.
