Four people were charged Friday in Clinton County Court Friday with felony theft. Zuhdija Omerovic, 19, of ; as well as 30-year-old Joshua M. Cody, of ; and 21-year-old Lonnie S. Williamson Sr., were charged with Class 3 felony theft; wjo;e 51-year-old Terry L. Cristel, was charged with Class 4 felony theft.
Walter Henson, 37, of Odin was arrested for alleged purchase of suede without a prescription. With a prior conviction of methamphetamine, Henson was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail.
Salem police arrested 25-year-old Ryan McCarty, of Iuka, Wednesday, for alleged domestic battery. At the same time, they arrested 26-year-old Nicole Dulaney, of Kinmundy, for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia.
Michelle Lynn Williams, 27, of Mt. Vernon, was charged Wednesday in Marion County Court with alleged felony possession of less than 5-grams of methamphetamine. She remains in the custody of the Marion County Jail.
Jody L. Richards, 46, of Vandalia was charged Wednesday in Fayette County Court with alleged felony possession of less than 5-gram of methamphetamine. She is currently held in the Fayette County Jail.
The Centralia Fire Department received a call this morning regarding a possible fire on the 600 block of Kell Street. When they arrived they saw that no structural fire was involved. The mast head to the service entrance sparked a small fire, which caused the mast head to melt. The situation is under control however a small portion of Kell Street experienced a power outage. Ameren has been notified as is working on the problem.
School bus accident
Just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, Kell firefighters responded to a call of a Rome Grade School bus/SUV accident on Route 37 near Baseline Road. Initial reports indicated the SUV drove into the back of the bus shortly after the bus had dropped two children off at home. The driver of the SUV was taken to Good Samaritan for treatment of injuries, no one in the bus required medical attention.
Salem police arrested 29-year-old Alisha Hays Tuesday for alleged driving under the influence of drugs. She was also arrested on an outstanding Marion County warrant for failure to appear in court.
A single vehicle accident happened early Tuesday morning on RT 161, Exit Highway to Iuka. No paramedics were needed and the vehicle was still drivable.
