Two Centralia men are in the Marion County Jail this morning, charged with multiple weapons violations.
Reports indicate 29-year-old Nathan Keller was stopped near Hickory and 5th streets due to an outstanding Marion County warrant.
According to Centralia police, Keller Reports indicate Keller was cooperative during the traffic stop and arrest, however, his passenger, 22-year-old Keith Royer, reportedly lied about his identity and ultimately fled on foot from the vehicle before being caught by police.
After both suspects were secured, a search of the vehicle revealed a semi-automatic hand gun lying on the passenger floorboard. Reports indicate the serial number on the weapon had been defaced.
Officers also located brass knuckles attached to the keys that were still in the ignition of the
Keller was charged with felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon. His bail is
set at $20,000.
Royer has been charged with felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon – the second time he has been charged with such an offense, felon in possession of a firearm, misdemeanor resisting police and obstructing identification. His bail is set at $50,000.
