• Spring storm blasts area

In what sometimes seemed like a snow storm that just wouldn’t stop, mother nature left more than 8”-10″ of the white stuff in much of the area.

While many area schools were already dismissed this week due to spring break, a list of others that are dismissed today due to the weather can be found on our website at mywithersradio.com/Centralia.

Also be aware that Centralia, Salem and Odin are all observing emergency snow routes, and you are cautioned to not park along those snow routes.

Even though the National Weather Service allowed the winter weather warning to expire for the area, occasional snow showers could continue throughout today, bringing additional accumulation.

The roads this morning are extremely hazardous and travel is highly discouraged. according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Tonti Road from Route 37 to Interstate 57 overpass is closed until further notice, due to drifting snow and multiple vehicles that are stuck.
