The Mt. Vernon-based Fifth District Appellate Court Friday reversed a judge’s ruling that a psychological evaluation of a Troy man considered unfit to stand trial for murder be audio taped over the doctor’s objections.

Terry Sedlacek, 31, is accused of shooting and killing a Maryville pastor during a Sunday service four years ago. Sedlacek walked into the First Baptist Church of Maryville on March 8th, 2009 and shot the Rev. Fred Winters during a sermon. Sedlacek had no connection with the pastor or the church. He has been confined at Alton State Hospital since first found unfit.
