• Four from Mt. Vernon charged with federal meth crimes

     According to Stephen R. Wigginton, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, 53-year old Michael D. Cole, 35-year old Shelly R. Myogeto, 51-year old Julia A. Snow and 33-year old Gregory S. Minor, all of Mount Vernon, have been indicted in federal court on methamphetamine related courtgavel_1353175955264_328934_ver1.0_320_240charges.  


    All four defendants were indicted in Count 1, which charges that from on or about June 2010, until on or about September 19, 2012, in Jefferson County, they all conspired to knowingly and intentionally manufacture more than 50 grams of methamphetamine. 


    Separately they are indicted on charges of intentionally possessing meth precursors and distributing meth. All charges claim the alleged crimes took place between 2010 and 2012 in Jefferson County.

    If convicted, Cole, Myogeto, Snow and Minor each face 5 to 60 years imprisonment, up to a $1.25 million fine, and no more than 4 years supervised release to follow incarceration. 


    The investigation in this case was conducted by the Joint Narcotics Unit of the Mount Vernon Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
