Centralia High School held an assembly Monday, at which representatives of USA Today were on hand to officially present the school with its award for Most Unique Mascot in the Nation.
The assembly was open to the public. The Orphans secured a significant victory last month, when more than 25 million votes were cast in the final round in favor of the Orphans. In all, nearly 32 million votes were cast for the orphans throughout the three round contest.
The Price, Utah Dinos finished a distant second, with just over 13 million votes.
In addition to the title, the high school received a $2,000 check for its athletic department.
