Motorists who regularly use the Interstate 64 need to take note that there are lane restrictions on eastbound I-64 starting today near New Baden. road construction

The restrictions begin at 9 a.m. at mile marker 27 with the right lane closing to traffic and reopening Friday. The left lane will remain open.

I-DOT says they will be making repairs this week to a bridge in that area and in the Mt. Vernon area. I-dot will be repainting the pavement today on Illinois 37 between Jordan Street and just south of the Route 142/148 and Route 37 intersection with repairs to the pavement and flaggers controlling traffic.

That work should be completed during normal daytime hours and no closures of side roads are anticipated. Motorists need to use care.
