Weeks after the first reported car burglary of a series, one suspect has been arrested; however the burglaries are still ongoing.

Streets such as Fayette, Seventh, Beech, and Cherry have all had multiple car entries within the last three weeks. Neighboring streets such as Fifth, Sixth, and Lincoln are also reporting cars being broken into with few items missing.

Centralia Police Chief Larry Evans recommends  leaving valuables out of cars and lock car doors. He also suggests parking in public sight to prevent the burglars from breaking the windows and getting inside.

The overnight robberies were first reported on April 10th, with several robberies occurring each night since. As of now there are over 24 reported care burglaries since the first few were reported.burglary map
