Following an April 22, incident at her Centralia home, Sue Ann Daniels was taken to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, for injuries allegedly sustained at the hands of her 82-year-old husband Carl P. Daniels.

Carl Daniels was ultimately arrested and charged with felony aggravated domestic battery, a Class 2 felony, punishable by up to 7-years in prison.

Sue Daniels, reportedly never regained consciousness, and died May 2, at the hospital in St. Louis.

Hoffman says he is now waiting for the St. Louis County pathologist’s report on sue Daniel’s autopsy, before he decides if additional charges will be filed against Carl Daniels, who remains in the Jefferson county jail, with bail set at $50,000. He is next due in court June 4, on the domestic battery case.

In addition to the felony domestic battery case, there is also in Jefferson County Court an outstanding order of protection against Carl Daniels in favor of his wife’s adult daughter.
The order alleges he also struck the daughter on that same date, after she reportedly went to her mother’s aid.
