There was a four vehicle accident yesterday morning on Illinois Route 15 near North Sparrow Lane, between Woodlawn and Mount Vernon.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s report, it occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. as three trucks and one car were traveling east, when a truck driven by 42-year old Karl S. Markham of Nashville, Illinois allegedly quickly put on his brakes to turn right into a driveway, just east of North Sparrow Lane.

The car at the end of the line driven by 18-year old Alexa R. Capps ran into the back of a truck driven by 53-year old Ronnie G. Langhhuun of Centralia. His truck then ran into a truck in front of him driven by 51-year old Steve A. Stankowski of Nashville.

Stankowski’s truck ran into Markham’s truck. Only Langhhuun was injured and went to the hospital for treatment. He was also the only driver cited, as he was driving with an expired registration.
