The Kaskaskia College Board of Trustees met Monday for the regular monthly meeting, and approved a resolution to support the development of an agreement with the State of Illinois for the use of the former and vacant Animal Disease Lab.

Representative John Cavaletto (R-Salem) was at the meeting and assisted with the project that allows KC use of the former KC Logo - BLUELab Building.

The agreement will be a 5-year renewal that will become effective July 1, 2013. The Board has authorized KC President Dr. Jim Underwood to work with the state on completing the language of the agreement.

Underwood thanked Cavaletto for his work and support of the Intergovernmental Agreement between the State of Illinois and KC.

According to Underwood, the College Agricultural Programs will occupy the building, which will allow the expansion of current programs and the development of new Ag programs.

Bill Hawley stated this is a “win-win” agreement for the state and the college and is grateful for the leadership of Cavaletto in working on this agreement following the closure of the facility.
