A miner was killed Tuesday at Wildcat Hills Mine near Eldorado, Saline County coroner Jerry Watson said.
The miner was hit by a ram car being trammed through a ventilation curtain, according to an MSHA report.
The emergency call was received at 12:17p.m. Tuesday and the victim was pronounced dead at 2:14 p.m.
Wildcat Hills is owned by Peabody Energy.
Peabody issued a statement Tuesday night saying a 35-year-old employee had been fatally injured.
