• Washington County kicks off fair

    The 2013 Washington County Fair gets underway today. An ITPA tractor pull will kick off at 7 p.m. this evening in thetractor pull grandstand at 7p.m., with $10,500 in prize money. Also, 4H animal shows get underway with judging of cats and rabbits at 6:30pm, judging of small pets projects also at 6:30pm, and judging of dogs and poultry at 7:30pm.

    Carnival rides are provided by H and H amusements which will give away two bicycles a night for purchasers of arm bands. The week-long annual event also includes the exhibition hall, the Illinois state I-cash booth, free parking, free gate, and continues through Saturday. The county fairgrounds are located on Holzhauer drive behind Nashville High School.
