A Centralia murder case may end soon with a plea agreement.
Negotiations are underway between prosecutors and the attorney for 56-year-old Charles Wilkin, who is charged with felony murder and involuntary manslaughter for the Easter weekend shooting death of his 21-year-old daughter Chelsea.
Wilkin claims he believed the 9mm Glock to be empty when he pointed it at his daughter and pulled the trigger during what he described as a minor disagreement between the two.
A pre-trial hearing is set for July 23d to discuss the negotiations.
Wilkin remains in the custody of the Marion county jail, with bail set at $75,000.
