• Portion of $15 mil in state road funds coming to Washington County

    A Washington County road project is among those southern Illinois projects being funded by the state.

    More than $15 million is being announced by Gov. Pat Quinn for projects which include in Washington County $1,924,046.

    For E.T. Simonds Construction Company of Carbondale to resurface U.S. Route 51 from the Illinois 15 intersection west of Ashley and south to the Perry County line.

    Simonds was one of four bidders on the project. The announced southern Illinois projects will be administered by IDOT.
