• Centralia man charged with killing kitten during argument

    A 22-year-old Centralia man was in the Marion County Jail Monday morning, charged with aggravated cruelty to animals after he allegedly killed a kitten when he threw it against a vehicle during a domestic disagreement.

    Bail for Andrew M. Akin has been set at $10,000. He is charged with a class 4 felony, which while a probationable offense is also punishable by between 1 and 3 years in prison.
