• Natural gas cause of deadly house explosion

    Updating a story from last week, the Illinois Fire Marshal says natural gas caused a deadly house explosion in Du Quoin. house-explosion

    WSIL-TV reports that fire investigators and representatives from Ameren and insurance companies collected evidence from the scene. The blast last Sunday killed 83-year old Harold A. Pundsack.

    The explosion damaged about a dozen homes in the area. The fire marshal says there was a problem with a natural gas line. Investigators say they’re still trying to figure out exactly what went wrong.
