• Area emergency management agencies receiving grant funds

    Governor Pat Quinn has announced that grants totaling $4 million have been awarded by the Illinois Emergency  Management Agency to help 121 accredited city and county emergency management agencies throughout Illinois support local disaster preparation and response efforts.

    County and municipal emergency management agencies receiving the grants include Centralia receiving $3,886.99, Clinton County getting $22,186.22, Marion County receiving $15,490, Salem receiving $9,196.04; Mount Vernon receiving $17,639.31, Jefferson County receiving $15,458.34, and Washington County getting $17,525.86.

    These grants are funded through a grant IEMA receives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The grants, which are awarded annually, can be used for day-to-day operations of local emergency management programs.
