A car and foot chase Wednesday has Centralia police looking for the 24-year-old man who was able to escape after jumping from his moving car.

Officers initially tried to stop Richard E. “Ricky” Potter of Centralia because he was wanted on outstanding warrants. But instead of stopping, police say Potter fled, and when he attempted to turn from Pullen onto Third Street, his car slid off the road and traveled through several yards on Third Street before re-entering the road.

The chase then continued onto an alley where Potter allegedly jumped out of his still moving vehicle and fled on foot, with his car continuing into a yard on west Third Street where it eventually stopped.

Potter was able to escape from police in a foot chase that followed and was still being sought Thursday morning.
