• Salem PD investigates flower shop robbery

    Salem police are investigating a Monday robbery which of Paradise Flowers, located in the 700 block of North Broadway.

    According to police, at approximately 5:15 p.m. Monday, the suspect entered the store and demanded money from the robbery investigationclerk behind the counter. He reportedly did not display or infer a weapon.

    The clerk advised him the register was locked at which point he demanded money that the clerk was holding.

    A small amount of cash was taken and the suspect fled the store on foot.

    The clerk activated the alarm, however responding officers were unable to locate the suspect.

    The offender is described as a young male approx. 17 to 18-years-old, with shaggy hair and wearing a black beanie hat pulled down to his eye brows with hair sticking out the front and sides.

    He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and baggy jeans and had some acne on his face.
