According to the Realtor Association of Southwestern Illinois, September 2013 housing statistics for Metro East counties, including Clinton County, reported an increase in year-to-date home sales, compared to the last several years.
Clinton County reported a 10.71 percent increase in home sales this September, while St. Clair County sold nearly 35 percent more than in September 2012, and Monroe County sold nearly 14 percent more.
The association reports that closed sales increased almost 20 percent compared to last year, while inventory levels in the region shrank by nearly the same amount and the median sales price increased 12.9 percent statewide. September also marked 27 months of year-over-year home sales gains statewide.
Tricia Tialdo, president of the association says things are heading in the right direction to sum up the year, and they feel positive about the current local housing industry.
