    her home and for two alleged DUIs within three days of each other has resigned her position from hawthorn grade school in Salem.

    The school board accepted a one-sentence resignation Monday night from Wendy Bunnell, effective Oct. 8, two days after she appeared in court on the two driving under the influence cases.

    The court has given Bunnell permission to leave Illinois to seek treatment. She has been on paid administrative leave from her teaching position since her arrest in march for the alleged underage drinking party. Records indicate she earned $58,000 a year as a kindergarten teacher.
