An informational open house regarding the Affordable Care Act will be held from 9 until 11 a.m. Saturday in the Kaskaskia College Workforce Center in Centralia, across from the post office and our radio station.
In person counselors will be available to provide information and answer questions regarding the new health insurance program — the Affordable Care Act — health marketplace enrollment process and new expanded Medicaid program n Illinois.
Refreshments will be provided and St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital will be providing free blood pressure checks.
The event is sponsored by BCMW community services.
Workshops on ACA will also be held during November in Clinton County.
The informational workshops are sponsored by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Clinton County Health Department.
They will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. on Nov. 4 at the Germantown Village Hall, Nov. 7 at the lifelong center in the Wedekemper board room at Kaskaskia College, Nov. 14 at the Jaycee hall in Albers, Nov. 19 at the Clinton County board room in Carlyle and Nov. 21 at the st. Rose community center.
The workshops will discuss coverage that will be offered, how to get coverage, plan costs, financial help, medicaid and more. The website is getcoveredillinois.gov.
