A former Saline County man already sentenced to more than 200 years behind bars now faces even more prison time.

Brian Bowlby, 38, was sentenced in August 2012 to 270 years in prison after his conviction on multiple counts of sexually prison-bars-thumb23796959assaulting a child. Prosecutors said the crimes occurred between 2001 and 2003 in Saline County.

At the time of his conviction in Saline County, Bowlby also faced similar charges in Hamilton County. Authorities said he sexually assaulted a child there in 2005.

After a two day jury trial in McLeansboro, Bowlby was convicted Tuesday of predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 5. Hamilton County State’s Attorney Justin Hood says Bowlby faces up to an additional 37 years in prison.

Bowlby is currently housed at Menard Correctional Center in Chester. The Illinois Department of Corrections website lists Bowlby’s projected parole date as July 2240.
