• Verizon customers warned of fraudulent text messages

    Several Verizon wireless customers in southern Illinois have fallen victim to fraud. scam-alert-pic

    According to WSIL-TV, customers are receiving a fraudulent text message that includes a link to click. The text message looks like it’s from Verizon, but if the link is clicked the phone becomes disabled.

    International phone calls and excessive charges have also been reported with this scam.

    Verizon wireless issued a statement to news 3 saying that they are aware of an issue and are working to resolve it.
