CENTRALIA – Another year, and another solid start for the Centralia Tigers Junior High Basketball Team.  Coach Doug Hargis has the perennial powers off to a 3-0 start, their latest coming at the hands of Casey Middle School 57-20 on Tuesday night.

Jumping out to an 18-2 edge after the first quarter, the Tigers never looked back. It was Centralia’s active zone defense and pressure that forced 6 turnovers early that lead to points and the early lead.

“We got off to a good start and played pretty well after that,” said Hargis.  Javon Williams scored 9 points in the opening quarter and Jordan Maines had a team high 16 points in the win.

The Tigers are off until they host O’Fallon Carriel on Monday.
