CENTRALIA – Seven members of the Centralia Orphans have been selected to the all-South Seven Conference for the 2013 football season.
Seniors Chase Alcorn, Ryan Shhipley and Tyler Ashby were named to the first team while sophomore Shandon Webster and juniors Matese Scott and BJ Smith were honorable mention selections along with senior Jordan Williams.
Shipley led CHS in catches (39) and receiving yards (502) and was also the second leading tackler with 71 and had a team high 3 interceptions.
Alcorn had 32 receptions for 484 yards including 3 for touchdowns.
Ashby stood out on the line and defensively totaled 56 tackes, 34 of them solo with a pair of sacks.
Webster caught 17 passes for 223 yards and 3 TD while netting 24 tackles.
Scott was the team’s leading rusher despite missing nearly half the season due to injury. He finished with 803 yards on the ground and scored 7 times.
Smith had a team best 87 tackles from his line backer spot and had 2 sacks with a forced fumble and 2 recoveries.
Williams played both sides of the line and was recognized for his work as a blocker.
