CHAMPAIGN – University of Illinois wide receiver Steve Hull’s big day at Purdue earned him the Big Ten’s offensive player of the week award.
Hull caught a career-high 10 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns in the Illini’s 20-16 win over the Boilermakers. It was Illinois’ first conference win since October 2011 and ended a 20-game Big Ten losing skid.
The game was the third straight in which Hull had at least 100 receiving yards. He has had 498 yards and five touchdowns during that run. The most in the nation.
Hull is a senior. He moved to receiver this season after an injury forced a move from safety.
