Jordan A. Mathis had initially been charged with Class 1 felony residential burglary, which is punishable by between 4 and 15 years in prison.
He had pleaded not guilty and was scheduled for a December 9 jury trial, with a final pre-trial hearing scheduled for yesterday.
It was at that hearing that an agreement was reached and Mathis pleaded guilty to the greatly reduced charge of misdemeanor theft, which is punishable by up to 1 year in jail.
Mathis was sentenced to 2-years probation, 100 days in jail and ordered to pay court costs. The felony charge was dismissed.
