    Granada Classic Kid’s Matinees:
    Free admission. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Showings at the Granada Theatre, North 9th Street, Mt. Vernon.

    First Friday (Monthly): Free haircuts for Veterans – Centralia
    There will be free haircuts for Veterans the first Friday of each month. It will be held at the American Legion Post 446, 117 South Poplar, Centralia from Noon to 3:00 p.m. Presented by American legion Post 446 & Kaskaskia College Cosmetology Department.

    Last Tuesday (Monthly): Foster Parent Informational Meeting
    Are you interested in becoming a foster parent or do you just want to learn more about the requirements?
    If so, please come to the Mt.Vernon DCFS Office at 321A Withers Drive in Mt.Vernon on the last Tuesday of every month between 4pm & 7pm or call Vivian Robinson at 244-8400. Make a Difference in the life of a child

    December: Fantasy of Lights at Foundation Park – Centralia
    All month long.

    December 12: Old Fashioned Christmas Sroll – Downtown Centralia
    Presented by Jim Ford Men’s Wear and Illinois Theater Group from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., with things going on all evening, including Santa walking the streets of downtown Centralia from 4 to 8 p.m.

    5:00-6:00: Carlo van Ulft will be performing Christmas Music at the Bell Tower

    6:30: Kaskaskia College Corus, directed by Dr.Sara Graham, will perform under the Illinois Theater marquis lights. They will also sing Christmas Carols

    Girl Scout Troop #8821 will be selling hot chocolate, coffee and baked goods in front of Jim Ford Men’s Wear. The money collected will go to the new Friendship House and the homeless in Centralia.

    The Illinois Theater Group will have a vendor fair in their lobby with drawing of prizes at 7:45.
