    A southwestern Illinois coal mine’s closure means 189 employees are out of work.     Fire destroys 89-year-old Royalton church

    A Sunday morning fire has destroyed one Franklin County church. The First Christian Church in Royalton was engulfed in flames around 5 yesterday morning. The building was three stories tall and nearly 90-years-old. No injuries were reported in the fire. An investigation is ongoing.
