Kickoff for the Southern Illinois Heart Walk from 5:30-6:30pm at Marion Ford Hyundai in Marion. The Heart Walk will take place October 4th, with proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association.
The Caregiver Fun Fest will be held from 10am until 3pm at the Carterville Community Building. The event is for non-professional caregivers who are caring for a family member or friend. All too often they are physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted and this will be a much needed break for them. The event is free of charge.
August 2 and 3
The Crab Orchard Kennel Club is hosting their annual AKC Dog Shows at The Pavilion of The City of Marion on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3 from 8:30am to 4pm Admission is $5. Children 10 and under are free. Approximately 600 dogs representing more than 100 different breeds will be competing for the coveted title of Best in Show both days.
West Frankfort Guard Day Experience will be held from noon until 8pm at the West Frankfort National Guard Armory. There will be free food and beverages, as well as live music and a demonstration of what the Illinois National Guard soldiers do and have at their disposal. Bring the whole family, there will be something for everyone!
