West Frankfort First Baptist Church Choir presents the Living Christmas Tree “Joy to the World.” The event is free, and will begin at 7pm nightly.
Santa’s Gift House will be held from 9am until 3pm at the Illinois Star Centre mall. All proceeds will go toward The Williamson County Williamson County Child Advocacy Center.
The Cleon 26.2 Marathon will be held from 8am until around 1pm. The marathon will start in Carrier Mills, and will head along the Tunnel Hill State Trail to Vienna. All proceeds will benefit the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
The Ina Christmas Vendor and Craft Fair will be held in the Ina Community Building from 9am until 4pm. There will be more than 15 vendors on hand, including Mary Kay, Pampered Chef and more. They will be serving breakfast and lunch, and for those with children, Santa will be available for pictures from 10-12. Proceeds from the event will go towards the 2014 Ina Fall Festival.
Boy Scout Troop 42 will be holding a fundraising dinner at McAllisters in Marion from 5pm to 8pm. This fundraiser will help to send 24 young men on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Patriots Point in Charleston South, Carolina. While at Patriots Point, these Scouts will stay on the USS Carrier Yorktown; earn merit badges such as Astronomy and Oceanography; and visit Fort Sumter to learn about the Civil War. The 10% donation from McAlisters on all meals served will go to assist in the travel costs for transportation, lodging, and meals. Each Scout has personally raised over $150 to pay for the trip to Patriots Point. Please help us to get these young men to this special trip by enjoying a wonderful dine-in or call-in dinner at McAlisters. Donations are also welcome.
A Benefit for Nikki Williams will be held at the Marion Knights of Columbus Hall from 4pm until 9pm. There will be food, shopping and a raffle. The event is free to attend.
The Annual St Francis Women’s Club Cookie Walk will be held from 9am until noon. The event will start at the St. Francis Women’s Club on South Poplar street in Carbondale, and cookies will be $6.50 per pound, and all proceeds will benefit the Center. There will be gently used Christmas items for sale, as well.
Pictures with Santa will be held at the Robert N. Brewer Family Foundation in Herrin from noon until 5pm. You must bring your own camera for pictures, and there will be a raffle to win a $100 gift card to Toys R Us.
Blend Scholarship Benefit A Capella Concert will be held at the Herrin Civic Center starting at 7pm. Tickets are $10 each. For more information call 988-1234.
