TThe Mount Vernon Public Utilities Department has lifted the boil water notices for the 2200 block of Benton Road, the 1000 block of Wilkens, the 1100 block of South 15th Street, the 200 block of North 11th Street and 215 on North 10th Street. And the boil water notice that was issued for Kell and Dix water customers has been lifted.
Kmart Shoplifting Incident
There was a shoplifting incident at KMart late Monday morning and according to the Mount Vernon Police Department, the store's loss prevention had 21-year old Trazell Sanders of Mount Vernon detained. He allegedly took some items without paying for them and was charged with Theft Under $300. He was later bailed out on $300 cash.
Mt. Vernon Man Searching Cars
A Mount Vernon man was allegedly going through cars around the 1700 block of Main Street late Monday night and very early yesterday morning and is now in the Jefferson County Jail. According to the Mount Vernon Police report, they took 19-year old Zachary L. Youngblood into custody shortly after the call as he allegedly took items from various vehicles in the area. He is awaiting the formal filing of a charge of Burglary and bond to be set.
